Pulse Health Awarded $488,959 Qualified Grant Under IRS Section 48D for Breath Measurement of Free Radical Damage

Revelar™ from Pulse Health is a breakthrough in accurately measuring the indications that can lead to heart disease, cancer and early aging.

PORTLAND, OR — Revelar™, the first device to measure aldehydes — known indicators of free radical damage — in a simple breath test, will immediately receive a $244,479 award under IRS grant 48D for qualifying therapeutic discovery projects. The actual certification was for $488,959 based on Revelar’s capability to accurately measure a patient’s free radical damage through the aldehydes present in their breath.

The award was based on Revelar's ability to:

  • Provide an unprecedented level of accuracy in testing for aldehydes, all within a breakthrough breath test that delivers quick results in a non-invasive manner
  • Help improve patient health by determining the best treatment plan that ultimately helps prevent heart disease, cancer and rapid aging
  • Contribute to lowering healthcare costs in the US with increased patient wellness

"I am very pleased about this award and the opportunity," said Chris Marsh, CEO of Pulse Health. "While antioxidant supplements are a multibillion dollar industry, there has been no proof which supplements really protect people from free radical damage. Doctors can now measure which antioxidants and treatment plans are really making the difference to improve their patients' health."

"Revelar's measurement system is the gold standard for oxidative stress assays. There is a lot of subjective information in the market but now a doctor can accurately determine whether a regime is working and enable patients to improve their health and understand why it’s improving," said John Hunt, MD of Pediatric Respiratory Medicine at University of Virginia.
