Aldehydes are the byproducts of oxidative stress. Aldehyde measurement has proven to be an effective biomarker of excess free radicals. The Revelar test is based on research relating to aldehyde measurement in exhaled breath condensate. Subsequent studies have shown a correlation between breath aldehydes and disease states. The Revelar score is in effect an aldehyde score based on testing aldehyde levels.
